PIR Insulation Board with Fiberglass Tissue

PIR Foam Insulation Board consist of Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam insulation, faced on both sides with 0.6mm fiberglass tissue or 0.08mm aluminum foil. The standard width of GFI PIR Thermal Insulation Board is 1200mm or 600mm. The length can be customized. The PIR Insulation thickness and facing materials can be changed as per different application or project specifications. PIR Insulation Boards with fiberglass tissue offer a combination of excellent thermal performance, fire resistance, strength, and durability, making them a popular choice for energy-efficient and resilient building insulation solutions.pir insulation celotex pir insulation board

Why Choose GFI PIR Thermal Insulation Board?

PIR Insulation Boards with fiberglass tissue are a type of insulation material used in construction for their excellent thermal properties and added strength provided by the fiberglass tissue layer. Here’s what this combination offers:

01 / Thermal Insulation: PIR Foam Insulation Boards are known for their high thermal resistance, meaning they effectively reduce the transfer of heat through walls, roofs, and floors, contributing to energy efficiency in buildings. Rigid Polyisocyanurate has a low thermal conductivity and superior thermal performance. When the density of rigid Polyisocyanurate is 35-40 kg/m3, its thermal conductivity is only 0.018-0.024 W/(m·K), which is about half that of EPS (expanded polystyrene). It has the lowest thermal conductivity among all Insulation Materials.

02 / Stable Pore Structure: Polyisocyanurate materials have a stable pore structure, predominantly closed-cell, which not only provides excellent insulation performance but also good freeze-thaw resistance and sound absorption. The average lifespan of rigid Polyisocyanurate insulation structures can reach over 30 years under normal use and maintenance conditions. They are not damaged by external factors such as drying, moisture, electrochemical corrosion, insect, fungus, or algae growth, or by rodent damage.

03 / Fire Resistance: Polyisocyanurate Foam has inherently good fire-resistant properties, making it a preferred choice for insulation in buildings where fire safety is a concern.

04 / Strength and Durability: The addition of fiberglass tissue enhances the structural integrity and durability of the Insulation Board, making it more resistant to damage during handling, installation, and throughout its service life.

05 / Moisture and Water Resistance: Rigid Polyisocyanurate has a closed-cell rate of over 90%, making it a hydrophobic material. It does not increase in thermal conductivity due to moisture absorption, and walls do not seep water.

06 / Versatility: PIR Foam Board with fiberglass tissue can be used in various applications, including walls, roofs, floors, and even in specialized areas such as cold storage facilities and refrigerated vehicles.

Application of PIR Foam Board Insulation

1.Wall Insulation Systems

  • External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) : PIR Polyisocyanurate Insulation Boards serve as the primary insulation layer installed on the exterior walls of buildings, providing thermal insulation and reducing heat transfer through the walls.
  • Internal Wall Insulation Systems : Used for insulating the internal walls of buildings, particularly suitable for retrofitting old buildings for energy efficiency without affecting the exterior appearance.

2.Roof Insulation

  • Flat Roof Insulation : PIR Thermal Insulation Boards can be directly laid on flat roofs, creating a continuous insulation layer to prevent heat loss through the roof.
  • Pitched Roof Insulation : Suitable for various forms of pitched roofs, easy to install, and enhances overall insulation performance.

3.Floor Insulation

  • Underfloor Heating Systems : In underfloor heating systems, PIR Rigid Insulation Board effectively reduce downward heat loss, improving the energy efficiency of the heating system.
  • General Floor Insulation : Used in regular floor structures to enhance insulation performance and improve indoor comfort.

4.Curtain Wall Insulation

  • Glass Curtain Wall Insulation : PIR Foam Insulation Boards can be used as insulation material in glass curtain wall systems, improving the thermal insulation performance of the curtain wall and reducing energy loss.

Buring Comparison Test

The following pictures show the state of the RLB-l Polyisocyanurate Insulation fireproof composite board under the direct combustion of the 1300℃ flame torch for each period of time. During the entire experiment, the RLB-I Polyisocyanurate Insulation Board did not burn through and did not drip water. Preventing flame spread and heat conduction, no burning phenomenon.pir insulation board kingspan
